Yesterday was Good Friday, it was a day when Christians specifically remember and reflect on Jesus’s crucifixion and His death. Throughout Jesus’ life, He knew His purpose on earth and He walked through His journey on earth with love, humility, faith and many more; yet it was also full of frustrations, angers and sorrows. We will all agree that Good Friday was not good for Jesus at all, that day is described as “the worst kind of hate, yet the best kind of love”, that day was nothing but good, yet Jesus knew it was the best for us. What is confidence in God? I remember when I first became a Christian, I felt like I was really lacking faith. I shared this at the end of a fellowship, during our prayer time and I asked brothers and sisters to pray for me – pray that I could have more confidence in God. Unexpectedly, the sister who prayed for me, prayed for my self-confidence. I did not really know how to react to it. Afterwards, I tried explaining to her about the difference between confidence in God and self-confidence, but she was really confused, and I did not know what more I could say. [Read more…]

Our 2020 church theme is ‘Rooted in Christ, Established in Faith’. To live out this theme, we are starting a church wide online devotion from 1 June, titled ’60 Days of Chewing… on His Word!’.

Despite the ongoing pandemic, our Heavenly Father is still with us. In fact, we are experiencing His presence and peace more than ever.

We are extremely excited to be celebrating our 50th Anniversary as a Fellowship and our 20th Anniversary as Bristol Chinese Christian Church in the year 2020. How can 50 years of history be condensed into a few paragraphs and who would have thought that from very humble beginnings as a student Bible study group on a Friday at Bristol University in 1970, we would grow, under God’s unfailing love into a thriving, vibrant church based at Tyndale Baptist Church on Whiteladies Road. Starting from 2 September 2018, a new fellowship group of BCCC, ROOTED, will begin. ROOTED welcomes students aged 11 to 14 (years 7-9). We will meet on Sundays, from 2:00 to 3:30pm at Tyndale Baptist Church. This group runs in the form of a fellowship and will be led by devoted youth leaders. Through participation in different activities and bible studies, youngsters will learn about the Bible and get to know each other to establish friendship and faith. [Read more…]
